Owl school visit reviews from teachers

We’re proud of the mornings we spend in classrooms across Essex and beyond. Here’s what teachers have said after a Night Owls visit.

A morning at a local school

The Night Owls visit was truly one of the most memorable experiences our children have had in school.

Every child from Reception to Year 6 was completely amazed and captivated from start to finish. The two ladies leading the sessions were fantastic — so engaging, knowledgeable and brilliant at explaining everything in a fun, interactive and age-appropriate way for all year groups. The children learnt so many new facts about owls and wildlife, and there was a real sense of awe and wonder throughout the 45-minute assembly.

For many of our pupils, this was their very first time seeing an owl in real life, making it an experience they will always remember as part of their primary school journey. Watching six beautiful owls fly around the hall was absolutely magical, with some children excitedly saying they could even feel the owl feathers brush the tops of their heads as they flew so low overhead! The children also loved having the opportunity to wear the owl glove and have an owl land gently on their hand — a moment they will never forget.

The professional photographs afterwards were a lovely touch, and we really appreciated that children were never pressured into having a photo if they did not feel comfortable. The whole experience was organised so thoughtfully and professionally. A genuine 10/10 experience, and we are incredibly grateful that it was provided free of charge. Thank you so much, Night Owls — we absolutely loved having you in school and we’d recommend you to everyone!

The children were absolutely spellbound — we're still talking about the owls weeks later. A genuinely unforgettable morning.

The observational drawing afterwards was some of the best work we've seen all year. Inspired by the real thing.
